Her words were like water to me.
I wanted to hold them in my hand
but they always slipped through my fingers.
I wanted to believe they would
hold me up like a ship but all they've done
is let me drown.
I want to believe that I can trust them
but I can't say that when I never
learned to swim and always
have to wear a life jacket
when she's around.
